Planting Seeds Since Primary and Middle School as 91 Million kWh Are Saved Yearly

Before building a new factory, TSMC implements greening projects to help preserve the surrounding habitat, planting native trees and other flora to lure bird and butterflies, which creates an oasis of respite and feeding. Since its establishment in 2012, the TSMC Ecology Volunteer Program has worked with 34 rural schools and a thousand children.

In its mission to care for our planet and spread the message of environmental protection, TSMC has managed to cut back 91 million kWh in power consumption, undertaking efficiency assessments on electrical systems of businesses, schools, hospitals, and social welfare entities. Such assessments plug up inefficiencies and lead to replacing older, hazardous circuitry. “Schools are so grateful for our service, and I always respond there’s no need for thanking us,” says TSMC Charity Foundation Chairperson, Sophie Chang. All they ask is for schools to spread the word to parents and other campuses. Any place that wishes to save energy, TSMC can show up and help out.
