Lecture at Changhua County Government: Sharing Philanthropy Experiences

Chairperson of TSMC Charity Foundation Sophie Chang was invited to give the lecture “Celebrity Forum: Participating in Philanthropy and Paying Love Forward with Female Power” at Changhua Performance Hall in Changhua County. In the lecture, she shared with the audience her experiences of participating in charity work as a woman. The attendees included Changhua County Magistrate, Wang Huei-mei, director of Social Affairs Bureau, Wang Lan-Hsin, directors and representatives of women’s associations and four major clubs. With participating in philanthropy and paying love forward as the main guideline, the lecture was light-hearted, intriguing, and close to life, allowing the female audience to get inspirations from the talk and explore themselves.

To accumulate resources and provide care for the disadvantaged and low-income families, TSMC Charity Foundation collaborated with Changhua County Government and private enterprises like Laurel Corporation and Sense and Beauty Dental Center. Together, they launched the 10000 N.T. for a Household campaign, where they hoped to keep the campaign going, and pay love forward by engaging in charity work.

Chairperson Sophie Chang shared her frontline experience in doing charity, “I hope more women and friends can join us, and pay attention to those issues that are passed over in society,” she said. With the lecture, Sophie wished to spread the message of paying love forward, so that more charitable enterprises and people may know there are still unseen people in need of help. Although people are now concerned with boosting the economy, we should bear in mind that there are people without basic economic means. Sophie hoped that while focusing on stimulating the economy, people can also assemble different sources and come together to help those in need.

As the saying goes, “since we take from society, it is our responsibility to give back to society,” said Changhua County Magistrate Wang Huei-mei. Wang would like to thank chairperson Chang for her charity work in Changhua. As Sophie Chang is a dedicated philanthropist, Wang would like to use the lecture to spread the idea of charity further to more women. By uniting female power, we may deliver women’s kindness and gentleness to people of different classes in the society, so that those in need may receive love and care by women. Inspired by Chang’s lecture, Changhua County Magistrate joined in TSMC Charity Foundation’s 10000 N.T. for a Household campaign, helping 9 disadvantaged families gain economic stability
