Rural Health: Sending Love to Mudan Township with Funding
Located in the periphery of southern Taiwan, Pintung Mudan Township’s long-term care center has been destroyed by Typhoon Meranti. With the help of TSMC Charity Foundation, the Pintung County government and Hengchun Tourism Hospital have pushed for renovation to refurbish Mudan Day-Care Center’s hardware spaces and rehabilitation facilities. The inauguration ceremony of the Community Integrated Center was held yesterday, attended by senior citizens and general public.
Mudan Day-Care Center was upgraded to a multi-functional rehabilitation center with TSMC’s funding and support. Under the Long-Term Care Plan 2.0, it was further designated as a Grade A service center by the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) to provide service to the public.
To facilitate rural health and meet long-term care needs, TSMC Charity Foundation Chairperson Sophie Chang visited MOHW’s Hospital and Social Welfare Organizations Administration Commission. With its facilitation and Hengchun Tourism Hospital’s in-person request, Mudan Day-Care Center soon completed refurbishment after the typhoon, resuming its long-term rehabilitation services to Mudan residents.
TSMC Charity Foundation CEO Yeh Ching-huang said the newly built multi-functional rehabilitation center has two innovations. One is the establishment of stair lifts, while the other is the installation of solar panels on the roof, which realized TSMC’s environmental protection initiative in village funding projects.
